(Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority)
At each of our 11 stores, you will find a Suitably Qualified Person (SQP) who can advise on and prescribe certain animal medicines, including equine wormers over the counter. Other products include wormers and flea control medicines for your cat and/or dog.
To meet VMD requirements, CWG has put in place a comprehensive training programme to ensure all necessary staff meet the requisite standards.
For information the courses enable the SQP to:
- Identify the legal framework within which an animal medicine distributors business operates
- Explain basic anatomy and physiology of animals
- Outline the principal production systems and terminology used in the livestock industry
- Apply the principles of good merchandising practice as set out in the Code of Practice
- Apply an understanding of animal health to the sale and supply of animal health products
