Equi-Club General Purpose Supplement (3kg)
The GP Supplement contains a wide range of vitamins and minerals, helping to ensure that your horse receives a well-balanced diet. It is ideal for horses that do not require compound feed, those that are fed on straight cereals or those on reduced levels of compound feed and can be fed in conjunction with Equi-Club Hi-Fibre Horse & Pony Mix and Cubes, Horse & Pony Cubes (with mint).
In addition, it is a misconception that if your horse or pony is out at grass and maintains weight easily, no supplementary feed is necessary. Although at certain times of the year grass supplies more energy or “calories” than some horses need to maintain weight, it is unlikely to provide sufficient trace minerals. Remember: grass is only as good as the soil it is grown on! Copper and selenium for example are just two nutrients that tend to be insufficient in many pastures.
During storage, forage also has significant nutrient losses and loss of Vitamin E, an important antioxidant, is particularly rapid. If you are feeding Equi-Club Alfalfa or Alfalfa Lite as the sole feed to your horse, then it is equally as important to add a vitamin and mineral supplement. Although alfalfa is rich in natural vitamins and minerals, it will still need to be supplemented to ensure the diet is fully balanced.
